Bunzl expands Swiss presence

Bunzl
has bought Switzerland-based consumable products supplier Weita Holding. Weita supplies cleaning and hygiene, food service, retail, healthcare and safety consumable products to both end users and redistributors throughout Switzerland. In 2009 the Swiss company’s revenue was SFr.70.9m while at the end of the year the company had gross assets worth SFr.47m. The price Bunzl is paying for the Swiss company has not been divulged. Michael Roney, chief executive of Bunzl, said ‘Weita has a strong position in its markets, has a reputation for excellent customer service and will provide a base to develop further our business in Switzerland.’
