UK Computer Speakers Guide

Computer speakers are attached to a PC as an external component and used to transmit sound. External speakers are commonly equipped with a low-power internal amplifier. Computer speakers can also be internal as used with laptops.

Because of their small size, laptops traditionally do not come with standard high quality speakers. These speakers produce low quality sounds without much variety in tones.

The quality of sound in a laptop can be improved by connecting the computer to an external set of computer speakers. These are usually connected by inserting the computer plug into the speaker socket on the laptop.

Computer speakers come in a variety of styles and prices. The better the quality of the speaker the higher the price will be. Computer speakers usually come in set of right and left speakers with an external volume monitor.

The volume monitor is used to turn the volume up or down. Internal speakers are controlled by the volume monitor accessed through the computer’s tools menu.

Some more advanced computer speakers include features such as bass and treble controls which improve the sound quality somewhat. Sophisticated speakers may also come with a sub woofer unit which will enhance the sounds of base.
