Coventry Building Society announced on Wednesday that it plans to launch two new
savings accounts in August – the Sky Blues Saver and the Junior Sky Blues Saver accounts.
The new accounts, which will be introduced on August 6th, are set to mark the building society becoming the official savings and
mortgage partner of Coventry Football Club.
In addition to being the launch date of the new accounts, August 6th is also the date of Coventry Football Club’s first game of the season. It is expected that the accounts will appeal to customers of all ages, in particular fans of Coventry City.
Mark Harrington, savings product manager at Coventry Building Society, has stated that he is delighted to be in a position to offer these deals.
"What we have done with the club is add all sorts of unique Sky Blues extras to the new accounts," he commented.
New or existing customers can also avail of a
current account at Coventry Building Society.
Savings accounts were recently the subject of a comment from Jason Riddle at Save Our Savers who stated that those with
savings accounts in the UK should be given more government protection against inflation rate increases.
