Game Group
has appointed
easyJet's
chief commercial officer to the board in an effort to get the business back on track. Dana Dunne, 46, formerly chief executive of AOL Europe, will replace Jean-Paul Giraud, who has completed two terms of office and six years as a non -executive director. 'He has extensive experience in customer relationship management and maximising the potential of online distribution channels in international markets,' said Game chairman Peter Lewis of the new man. 'His experience across a number of rapidly evolving industries will bring complementary skills to the board.' Earlier today, the company lowered its full year profit expectations after seeing a sharp fall in sales over the Christmas period. In the five weeks to January 9, total sales were down by 12.1%, while like-for-like sales slid 13.8%. In the UK and Ireland, sales fell by 18% or 17.5% on a like-for-like basis. The firm now expects its pre-tax profits for the year to January 31 to come in at between £87m and £93m, below previous expectations.
