FTSE 100 movers: Miners spooked by China

Miners dominate the fallers on the Footsie today as they are hit by fears that the Chinese government may try to hold back growth in the Chinese economy. <b>Kazakhmys</b> and <b>Fresnillo</b> are the biggest fallers. Wound care company <b>Smith & Nephew</b> lost a US patent infringement case brought by Kinetic Concepts Inc. A jury decided that S&N's Renasys products infringed two of Kinetic's patents. Kinetic was awarded damages of $1.2m. Kinetics hopes to obtain and injunction to stop S&N selling the products in the US. S&N intends to appeal. Charles Stanley still rates S&N as a buy. Oil services provider <b>Petrofac</b> continues its rise ahead of the demerger of its oil and gas assets. The share price is heading closer to RBS's sum of the parts valuation of 1,230p a share.
