FTSE 250 movers: Game shares hit after sales fall
Thu, 17 Jun 2010, 11:43:00
Shares in video game retailer
Game Group
are lower after a sharp fall in sales. The group said in the 19 week period to 12 June total group sales were 11.4% lower than a year earlier. Game has also announced former Vodafone man Ian Shepherd as its new chief executive officer. Design and engineering firm
WS Atkins
is lower after it reported a 5.9% drop in full-year pre-tax profits. Stagecoach is wanted after a mixed outcome from arbitration in a contractual dispute between the bus and rail group and the Department for Transport (DfD) over how subsidies to the company's South West Rail franchise should be calculated. The arbitration found in Stagecoach's favour that revenue shortfalls should be assessed from April 2010 rather than February 2011 as the DfT had argued. But the company was disappointed that the arbitration ruled that car park revenues should be considered in calculating franchise payments.
