Fuller's going well as sun shines on London
Fri, 23 Jul 2010, 07:08:00
Hot weather in the south-east helped
Fuller's
, the London-based brewer and pub group, trade well over the past 16 weeks. Fuller's Inns saw like for like sales in its managed pubs and hotels increase by 4.1% in the 16 weeks to 17 July, while tenanted like-for-like profits were up 1%. Brewing arm Fuller's Beer Company's didn't do as well with own brewed beer volumes down by 2%. `Fuller's has started the year well. In the first 16 weeks of this year, our Managed Pubs and Hotels like for like sales increase of 4.1% is again among the very best in our sector. After some glorious summer weather there are economic clouds on the horizon, but I am confident that our strategy ensures the company is well placed to deliver for its shareholders even in these continuing uncertain times,' chairman Michael Turner commented. Simon Emeny, managing director of Fuller's Inns, has also been promoted to group managing director from 1 November. He will report to Michael Turner, but will assume overall responsibility for the operations of the company, with both The Fuller's Beer Company and Fuller's Inns reporting to him.
