ISS postpones float amid volatility
Fri, 18 Mar 2011, 13:18:00
Danish facilities and services provider ISS has postponed its proposed £1.5bn Initial Public Offering (IPO) due to turmoil in the markets following Japan's devastating earthquake. The firm is the latest to cite economic worries as a reason for pulling its flotation. "We are delighted by the response we have received from institutional and retail investors, but the current volatile and uncertain market conditions do not allow us to launch the transaction and achieve a smooth transition into the public markets," ISS chairman Ole Andersen said. Fashion chain New Look's chairman was reported earlier this month as saying that difficult trading meant it is unlikely to float this year.
