Engineering IT systems provider
Aveva
was buoyant Wednesday morning after announcing a contract win with a Korean shipbuilder.
SPP Shipbuilding has contracted Aveva to supply its Aveva Marine design solution to its three ship-yards in what Aveva described as “multi-million US dollar” deal.
Aveva’s systems will assist the shipyard in clearing its backlog of four years of orders and deliver projects on time.
SPP has plans to increase its capacity and to enter the niche chemical and oil tanker markets.
“We need the complete set of integrated marine design and production applications combined with open and flexible lifecycle management solutions that AVEVA provides to ensure the most productive, risk-free way to design and build ships,” said YongHee, Nam, managing director of SPP Shipyard.
Earlier this month Aveva said it is currently trading in line with expectations after a good start to the financial year.
