An innovative new multi-account credit card is set to be tested in the UK.
The card would allow users to manage all their accounts via one card, including personal and business credit cards and bank accounts. The card, which is the same size as standard credit cards, has buttons and a screen to enable consumers to choose which account they wish to use. The card requires batteries but these can last up to three years.
Once they have selected the relevant account, the process is exactly the same as with a standard credit or debit card. The credit card is already being used by American bank CitiBank and the firm making the new card, Dynamics Inc., told the Evening Standard that it was in advanced talks with UK banks about trials in this country. The tests could begin within the next few months.
Eziah Syed, of Dynamics, told the newspaper, "We've squeezed an entire computer into something the size of a credit card. We have buttons and a screen on the card, which you can use to switch between accounts. You'll be able to have your debit, credit, personal and business accounts all on the same card."
