Nationwide is offering the lowest personal loan rate ever provided by the society, which is also one of the lowest rates on the market at the moment.
The Nationwide main FlexAccount offers an APR representative of 6.3 per cent and allows customers to borrow loans of up to five years for between £7,500 and £14,999. The loans can be taken out in a branch, over the telephone or over the internet, depending on which is more convenient.
Paul Wootton, Nationwide's Head of Personal Loans, commented, "September is usually a busy time for personal loan applications, probably because of the launch of the new car registrations. The fact that we're now offering our lowest personal loan rate ever is great news for consumers and could provide the perfect opportunity to make that dream purchase."
Meanwhile, customers who choose not to take out the FlexAccount directly through the building society can apply for a 6.4 per cent APR representative loan under similar terms if they are looking at loans on offer through online aggregator and price comparison sites.
Marks & Spencer offer the next best loan on the market at the moment, which also comes with an APR representative of 6.4 per cent, while aggregator fans can benefit from the 6.6 per cent loan on offer from Alliance and Leicester.
