Nationwide relaunches internet banking
September 30, 2011
By Liz Parks

Nationwide has revamped its internet banking services, with the aim of making online banking easier and faster.

The building society launched the first UK internet bank 14 years ago, but it hopes that the new modern design will bring things up-to-date and provide some of the most helpful tools available.

Included in the new features are a new calendar view of transactions, easy to understand graphs of income and spending and a clear and simple statement view. There is also a faster way of setting up payments and quick links to popular transactions.

Richard Searle, head of channel integration with Nationwide, commented: “Our research shows that online banking has become a must for customers and as a result we wanted to provide a new and improved service to continue to help to make our members' lives easier by providing a convenient way of accessing their money whilst giving them more financial control.”

He added that the bank talked to around 1,250 of its customers to understand what they were looking for from online banking. “Their feedback has, and will continue to help us to shape services like the online bank,” he remarked.
