New Advice to Help People Buy Currency Wisely
04/07/2008
As the summer holiday season kicks off a leading foreign currency provider, International Currency Exchange (ICE), has issued advice about how to make the right choice when buying holiday currency.
There are many different methods to choose from, such as pre-paid travel debit cards, bureaux de change and online travel money, but in light of the pound's weakened state, which one offers the best deal?
"The fact of the matter is that there are several different ways to buy foreign currency - some of which are focused on last minute convenience and some on giving the best possible price" confirmed Andrew Hamilton, Head of Marketing at ICE. "This might seem an obvious point to make, but we are still seeing holiday-makers failing to take advantage of some of the great rates available to them."
Bureaux de change are very convenient, especially for busy holiday-makers who rely on a quick airport exchange to take care of their foreign currency, but they don't always offer the most competitive rates: "It is just business economics that bureaux de change rates are going to have to factor in operating overheads - rent, staffing, etc." said Hamilton.
For those with more time to prepare, buying currency online could represent a more economic solution. Customers can order their money online and have it delivered to their homes before they depart for the airport.
