Reality TV hotel up for sale
December 8, 2010
By Caroline Johnson

A Brighton-based hotel which featured in reality TV series The Real Swiss Family Robinson, has been put up for sale.

Blanch House on Atlingworth Street in the fashionable seaside city has been put onto the market following news that its owners have moved away.

Chris Edwardes and Amanda Blanch found fame when they starred in The Real Swiss Family Robinson, when they talked about the hotel and the £1 million debts they had run up since the business began nine years ago.

Christies is managing the sale of the five-storey boutique hotel, which has a price tag of £950,000.

A Christies spokesperson said, "Blanch House occupies a good position in a prominent trading location in the centre of Brighton. It comprises 12 individually styled en suite letting bedrooms, a 70s-inspired lounge and cocktail bar and a 40-cover restaurant suitable for breakfast, lunch and dinner trading."

The spokesperson added that there was also a one-bedroom flat located on the lower ground floor, which provided ideal accommodation for an owner or hotel manager.
