Santander offering £100 incentive for switching current accounts
May 3, 2011
By John Rowling

Santander has brought back its £100 incentive for customers who switch their main current account to Santander.

The deal was already available for online banking and is now being extended to telephone and in-store customers too from today. Customers who can pay in at least £1,000 per month and who switch their direct debits to one of Santander's specified current accounts will receive the £100 incentive payment after three months.

The Santander Zero, Reward, Preferred or Premium current accounts qualify for the £100 payment but the Everyday account doesn't and the offer doesn't extend to customers who already hold a current account with Santander, Alliance & Leicester, Cahoot or Cater Allen, or have done in the last three months.

All four current accounts which qualify for the incentive offer five per cent interest on in-credit balances up to £2,500. Previous £100 incentive offers from Santander have only lasted around six to eight weeks, so customers interested in the deal are urged not to delay.

Nici Audhlam-Gardiner, banking director at Santander, commented, "People who want a first class current account paying five per cent in-credit interest and with the flexibility of a free arranged overdraft for the first 12 months need look no further than our Preferred Current Account."
