Santander has announced that it is currently offering one of the best student
bank accounts on the market.
The reputation of the Spanish bank has come under scrutiny in recent weeks, after it was voted to have the worst customer service in the UK.
However, its latest deal for students - which features one of the best in-credit interest rates on the market - suggests that the bank remains highly-competitive.
As well as the attractive interest rates, an interest-free overdraft of up to £2,000 is also offered to applicants during their three year study time.
Students will automatically be granted an overdraft of £1,000 for the first year of their studies, and can benefit from a range of other perks such as free insurance for laptops and mobile phones.
Head of Santander
current accounts Helen Bierton said the product is proof that her organisation is committed to helping young people effectively manage their finances.
"Santander's Student
Current Account is designed to offer students the support they need from their bank throughout their time at university," she commented.
