<b>Mining</b> stocks are going well with Fresnillo, Kazakhmys and Xstrata among the top risers after China's official purchasing managers' index rose to 51.7 in August from a 17-month low of 51.2 in July, causing an improvement in commodity prices and overall sentiment. Among the smaller companies in the sector, Noventa is higher after saying it has found another deposit of tantalum-bearing ore at the Marropino concession in Mozambique. <b>Industrial engineering</b> is also performing well despite a fall in the share price of Clyde Process Solutions, which handles materials such as metals, cement and chemicals. CPS falls back even after it said trading for the six months ended 31 August 2010 has been in line with management expectations as its order book increases 18%.
