Women are more savvy than men when it comes to using credit cards to their best effect, recent research has suggested.
Conducted by Tesco, the study found that 32 per cent of women will make use of credit card points and rewards in order to pay for Christmas presents this year.
In fact, 46 per cent of women will definitely be on the look out for ways to save money this Christmas, compared to just 32 per cent of men who intend to do the same.
Women are also using money-off vouchers and discounts to save cash, with 60 per cent reportedly doing so, while 24 per cent will recycle unwanted gifts from previous years.
David McCreadie, managing director of banking at Tesco Bank, commented: "Our research reveals that women are more financially savvy when it comes to finding ways of making their money go further this Christmas, increasingly looking to reward schemes and discount offers to help pay for Christmas presents.”
He suggested the Tesco Clubcard Credit Card as a good option for people looking to win back money on their spending as the service provides clubcard points in return for spending, regardless of where the individual is making the purchases.
