A zero per cent balance transfer credit card deal has been launched by First Direct, with customers able to take advantage of the offer for 20 months.
The credit card operates alongside the company's 1st Accounts and is designed to help consumers balance their funds. For example, a financially savvy individual will be able to ensure that the credit card is paid off in full each month, which, thanks to the zero per cent interest, will leave them with some extra cash to divert towards savings or mortgage payments.
Barnaby Jenkins, head of cards with the company, commented, “For those customers with balances on other credit cards First direct's offer really makes sense. It's the perfect opportunity to pay off debt more quickly whilst avoiding monthly interest charges.”
Furthermore, the card allows people to manage their money easily through the use of internet banking. It is also possible to speak to a representative in the UK at any time, while a text message service can be set up to remind users of their balance and any recent transactions.
Of course, as with most credit cards, this one offers customers extra protection when making online purchases and consumers are also protected against any expenditure made on the card abroad without their consent.
